Yes, one does not have to be a twenty year-old model to benefit from a total functional and smile make-over.
Mr. 'D's primary goal upon our initial discussions was to improve his chewing and overall function. However, when he realized that a 'side-effect' of achieving that goal would be to improve his smile, he wanted to hear more.
It took some time to 'work-up' this case. That is, Mr 'D' viewed the simulated completed product on the computer and 'in wax' before proceeding.
The actual result exceeded our 'simulated' expectations.
"I've never smiled like this before" was a comment we were very pleased to hear.
After years of delay, it was time for Jacqueline to take care of herself.
Not only did Ms. 'A' need help with the smile, but her function was compromised as well. The upper and lower front teeth did not meet at all! Thus, functional correction was a goal, as well.
It was necessary for Jacqueline to take some time, not only to adjust to her new smile, but her new bite and function - a task she was more than happy to 'work on'.
She is Thrilled, as are We!
So… now it was Dawn’s turn. However, the wedding was very soon. Together, Dawn and our office worked out a plan to finish the upper teeth in “record time”. The smile was ‘secure’, and Dawn was a beautiful bride! We feel that not only was Dawn a beautiful bride, she is beautiful – PERIOD!
Jill's smile needed help! She was not happy with the spaces, the decay and the shade (color).
Lumineers were the answer for Jill. These porcelain veneers are placed on the teeth with little or NO drilling of the teeth prior to placement. The ultra-thin pieces of porcelain have limited uses. However, when there is spacing and the underlying teeth are not too discolored, they can be very successful.
Jill certainly thinks so!!
Charles had 'issues'! He was now ready to take care of himself.
Not only was Charles' appearance obviously compromised, but his bite/function was, as well. This case is a great example of the 'marriage' between restorative, functional and cosmetic dentistry. They all work together, whether it is a difficult comprehensive problem like this or just a couple of teeth. We need to think about it ALL when working with a smile.
No, this wonderful transformation did not occur 'overnight'. It took months. However, it was worth the time spent.
Now this great guy can show off his magnificent smile.
It’s obvious that Susie wanted a nicer smile. She was very specific. Her wishes were for a wide bright - WHITE smile. As one can observe viewing the ‘after’ photo, Susie’s teeth were not the only thing that changed. Now all she can say is “I love my teeth”. She’s thrilled. We’re pleased, as well.
Dave is very pleased with his new smile. He was also very surprised at the simplicity of the procedure that only involved tooth whitening and a few teeth treated with all Porcelain Bonded restorations. "My grandkids love it!"
Kimberly had very discolored teeth for a young woman. She is very pleased with the final results. In fact, she did not realize how much of a change there was until we compared ‘shades’ upon completion. What a difference!
Dawn just did NOT want to smile. It was very difficult to obtain the before photograph without 'tickling' her. Now, no problem! Not only were we able to provide a beautiful new smile with teeth that show white and bright -- but it is not 'crooked' any longer, either. Smiling is the 'order of the day' for Dawn now.
Charles did not want a total smile makeover like his wife (see "A Total Family Smile Make-Over"). His main concern was his smile as people quickly viewed him during normal speech and laughing.
Notice how Charles' smile and whole facial 'personality' changed after we provided this limited 'make-over'. He expresses himself totally differently after receiving his new smile. He 'lights-up'. What a change!
Sarah’s front teeth looked worn and uneven. She didn’t need our cosmetic expertise to look beautiful. It sure didn’t hurt, however. Sarah was thrilled
Johanna’s gold teeth certainly were not adding to her beauty. They also irritated her gums and ‘hurt’. Her whole personality changed after this makeover.
Deborah is from Wales. She has always wanted to upgrade her smile. Deborah was very pleased. Upon a recent visit ‘across the pond’, her mother was ecstatic. We’re happy for Deborah as well.
Will’s wants were obvious. What we did not expect was to see Will ‘come out of his shell’. His wife, who recommended him to us, couldn’t be happier!.
Aaron had a few big problems.
First there was a split front tooth with a gum infection. Secondly, the teeth were crowded and discolored. The front tooth could not be saved. Aaron is a good looking young man and there was no thinking of a denture of any sort. He chose implant placement after the tooth was extracted, along with cosmetic dentistry - including tooth whitening and porcelain veneers.
Can YOU tell which tooth is the implant?
The latest in restorative and cosmetic dentistry can be merged for a wonderful result.
Aaron certainly agrees!
