Dental Insurance

It is our pleasure to process your insurance claim, estimate your deductibles, along with the portion not covered by your insurance. The estimated amount not covered by your insurance is due at the time of treatment, and may be paid [with the exception of cash discount] by one
of the options listed above.

Please note: Our estimates are subject to final approval by your insurance company. Therefore, the amount we calculate as due, is subject to change.

Remember: The final financial reimbursement by the insurance company is determined via contractual arrangement between the insurance carrier and your employer. We have no control with respect to this arrangement. Thus, our estimates can be inaccurate; should the insurance company and/or employer change insurance reimbursement guidelines [e.g. downcoding bonded tooth colored restorations to silver fillings and providing a decreased insurance benefit].

A Word about Dental Benefit Plans

During the past decade, dental benefit plans have become an integral part of healthcare planning for many families. These benefit plans are made available to employees or members through companies, unions, and associations, and may vary considerably from one plan to the next.

Please note that we refer to these plans as benefit plans, not insurance plans. This distinction is important. Your employer/benefit plan provider may often equate dental benefit plans to medical insurance. They are not similar. Dental benefit plans provide pre-paid dentistry at a pre-selected level. That is all! Medical insurance, many times has no limits (or extremely high limits) with minimal exclusions. Dental benefit plans have very low limits and many exclusions.

Your employer has purchased a specific benefit plan from literally hundreds of combinations available. Your company decides how much it wishes to pay for benefits - to fit within the company budget. Thus, the range of benefits, many times, depends upon what the purchaser (employer) wishes to offer employees or members.

It is important to note that some plans base the amount of benefit on a chart or schedule of fees arbitrarily developed by insurance companies. For this reason, you may receive a lower percentage of the reimbursement level from which is indicated in your dental plan. For example, if your plan states it will pay 80% of the cost of dental treatment, it may reflect only 80% of the fee arbitrarily determined by the insurance company, and not the actual fee charged by our office.

The dental therapy recommended for you is based upon what you want combined with our professional judgment, and not your dental benefit coverage. We do not believe it is in either of our best interests for our office to compromise treatment in order to accommodate a plan's maximum benefit provision. We want to discuss with you a treatment plan's advantages and disadvantages; involving you and not your insurance company, in the decision making process.

We will, however, do our best to expedite benefit plan (dental insurance) processing. After you have provided us with accurate insurance information, we will file the insurance for most plans. In many cases this may be accomplished quite easily via computer transfer (electronic claims processing). Of course, we will help you in every way in handling insurance queries or trouble shooting 'lost' claims. Please note, the insurance relationship, overall, is between yourself or employer and the insurance company. We provide the agreed upon dental therapy that the insurance carrier benefits to you (though you may elect to have the monies sent directly to us).

Our financial arrangements 'hand-out', found on this Web page, describes many ways to 'stretch' your payment dollar beyond what your dental benefit plan may offer.

Remember, no question is too small for you to ask - especially when it involves your dental benefit plan. We are here to help!

Warranty on Dental Services

We provide what we consider to be state-of-the-art bonded laboratory crafted cosmetic and restorative dental services. It should last!

Any success, however, is a team effort shared with you and our staff.

Our team does our utmost to suggest the best alternatives for your cosmetic and restorative care. We then strive to provide the finest dental therapy possible. We trust that you will strive to maintain your new smile and restorative dentistry every day, as recommended.

Then...
Providing you comply with our recommendations for returning to have your teeth examined, cleaned and radiographed (i.e the ReCare visit) at the intervals we specify, and provided the bonded laboratory crafted restoration in question was recommended, rather than a compromise alternative -- we will warranty this dental therapy 100% for five years.

Please Note: In certain situations, a patient may ask us to provide a compromise service, such as placing a filling where a laboratory crafted onlay or crown was suggested by our staff. This compromise therapy is just that, a compromise. Thus, it does not fall into the category as described above.

We are proud to provide State-of-the-Art dental treatment.

It should last. We want you to know that!
